Our ensemble offers workshops, lecture-demonstrations and performances educating audiences on the cultural, musical and kinesthetic aspects of dance. An assembly performance or workshop generally includes:

  • Background information about Indian art and culture,
  • Basic explanation, demonstration and class participation to underscore the main principals of the dance, and finally
  • A storytelling segment that brings together cultural and performative elements through a relatable story based in Hindu mythology.

Past Performances

High Arts Asia, a production that presented the great music and dance traditions of North India, South India, and Bali, Indonesia and featured the world premiere of Mudra Samudra (Ocean Gesture), a collaborative dance work exploring the confluence of North Indian and Balinese aesthetic worlds.
